This place is a must try for an impressive dinner. My husband and I have been traveling for a few weeks and based on previous reviews decided to check out the restaurant. It was a perfect meal from beginning to end! Firstly, our waitress Chelsea was really great, friendly and attentive. We started with the pimento cheese and fried gnocchi, both so warm and delicious. I had the pork and my husband had the steak, both were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. We ended up sharing the carrot cake, HIGHLY recommend, it was absolutely fantastic. Thank you Barred Owl Butcher for a wonderful evening out and a perfect fall meal. We left so happy and full!

My husband really wanted to come here for their impressive cocktail list, which included his favorite cocktail, Paper Plane. Drinks did not disappoint including their non-alcoholic selection - they had shrub & clubs. I was deciding between Cherry-Lime and Peach-Szechuan Pepper, and the waiter explained the Cherry-Lime was a bit sweeter so I opted for the latter - it was my perfect drink of slight peach flavor, and Szechuan pepper was more like a undertone flavor. I got the spicy pepper cilantro lime shrub for my second drink - very heavy on the vinegar. For starters we had milk & honey bread (bread warm and sooo pillowy, bone marrow butter was top tier), blistered shishito peppers (there were a couple of peppers where the salt wasn’t equally dispersed so it was just a salt bomb with some bites, otherwise good), vegetable fritto misto (table’s favorite - battered and fried veggies). I ordered the rainbow trout for the entree. Fish was really good, perfectly cooked, but the absolute star of the show was the red pepper purée it was served with. I’ve only done roasted red pepper purée as a pasta sauce but will def steal their idea and make it with fish at home. For dessert we ordered sticky toffee carrot cake - a mix of my husband’s favorite dessert and it did not disappoint. Everyone loved the food, service was fast, cocktail list extensive. A must stop by in Columbia.

If you wanna try some unique food with unimaginable flavor and local taste, this is the place to go. Their food isn't what you will find anywhere else and the pairings are fantastic. It's definitely on the higher end, but worth the price. Gentleman, keep this in mind for a nice but not black tie nice kind of date. It's perfect for that in-between! I would also recommend grabbing a reservation because they can get super busy. Decor is nice, chairs are comfy, and their bar is impressive! We have the Pork Rilletes with blueberry preserves, the mac and cheese with bacon, and their wagyu philly. All of which was fantastic! Didn't grab any drinks but the drink menu looks fantastic! Service was great and I would definitely come back again. The only complaint I have is that they don't have sweet tea 😭 but their mason jar cups are adorable.
